Dr. Jim Clardy, a professor of psychiatry, has served as associate dean for graduate medical education since 2004. Dr. Clardy graduated from the College of Medicine in 1986 and remained at UAMS for his residency in psychiatry before completing a fellowship in schizophrenia research at the National Institute for Mental Health. Dr. Clardy enjoys gardening, landscaping, and especially likes collecting botanical specimens from friends and special places to serve as memories when they grow and bloom.

Dr. Molly Gathright is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and serves as the Assistant Dean for Graduate Medical Education. Dr. Gathright received her medical degree from UAMS College of Medicine in 2003 and remained at UAMS for general psychiatry residency and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry before joining the faculty in 2008. Since that time, she has been very active in residency education serving as program director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency until assuming the role as Assistant Dean for GME in 2016. Additionally, she serves as the program director for the Transitional Year Residency. Dr. Gathright is an avid runner and enjoys photography, baking, and traveling. With an open door policy, Dr. Gathright welcomes visitors, always has jar full of M&Ms to offer you, and loves to share a good cup of coffee and conversation.

Tim Atkinson helps residents, fellows and faculty achieve their best through personalized coaching and supports them in qualitative and quantitative research design. He also designs educational programs and supports policy development for the Clinical Learning Environment Review (CLER) process and ACGME. His faculty appointment is in Internal Medicine where he supports educational development in the fellowship programs. Before coming to the College of Medicine GME, Berva Bentley was a program coordinator in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. She joined the GME Team in September of 2016. Gardening (dirt therapy), reading, and a good cup of coffee always puts a smile on her face.

Transitional Year Residency Coordinator
Jennifer Hankins dreams of a GME office filled with innovation, service to others and free chocolate. As a healthcare administrator for thirteen plus years, she has worked in clinical and research settings. She has been with the UAMS GME office for 2 years. Jennifer also serves as the Program Coordinator for the Transitional Year Residency. When she is not thinking of GME, you can find her running a taxi service for her 8 year old twins.

With over 15 years of program management experience, Jennie Kirby has worked as a public administration specialist at the state and federal level and previously served as the program manager for UAMS Pediatric residency program. Jennie has lived and worked overseas in London, England for the World Association for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and in Japan, where she taught conversational English. In her free-time, she loves to read, try new restaurants and watch her daughter play soccer.

Sarah Sharp is the administrator for our residency management software program, New Innovations and the GME website. She provides educational and resource support and acts as the liaison between the hospital and their use of the reporting components of the software. Sarah graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management Information Systems. She is well versed with troubleshooting and problem solving technology and software. In her free time she enjoys watching movies, playing board games, baking creative desserts, and all things crafting.

Associate Professor, COM Surgery Administration
Carol Thrush is an Associate Professor and Medical Educator based in the Department of Surgery. For GME, she spends approximately half of her work effort in support of GME faculty development, evaluation, scholarship, and accreditation support activities. Dr. Thrush earned BA and MA degrees in Psychology from the University of West Florida, and an Ed.D. degree from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock. She is passionate about science writing, publishing, her family, the beach, and high quality cheeses.

Program Manager
Jennifer White joined the Graduate Medical Education office on Oct. 1, 2016. Jennifer began her career at UAMS as an RN in 1997. She was recruited to GME by the Dept. of Anesthesiology and served as their residency coordinator for 10 years. She has been certified by the National Board for Certification for Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) since 2010; she has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share. Some of Jennifer’s GME tasks include providing education and support for residency and fellowship coordinators, new program director orientation, EASE meetings, and orientation of new residents and fellows. When she’s not at work, you will find her enjoying time with her husband and four kids.
